Top Puppy: Monday, April 15, 2019

This week's Top Puppies are Madison Lucontoni, Andrew Twite, Harry LeGoullon, Thomas Morgan, Lucien Mumpini, Jacob Collins and Ryan Toscano who, in true Bulldog fashion, worked together to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Dartmouth this past Saturday.

With much of their time dedicated to their academic studies, individual spring sports, and senior project responsibilities these 7 BHS football players took time out of their weekend to host a dodgeball tournament to benefit CHaD. Each of these players was voted to represent BHS on June 29th when they will play for Team West. They have all been working tirelessly to raise funds individually but this weekend they came together to work as a team.

They are deserving of the Top Puppy recognition for their commitment to help families and patients at CHaD.

They were a tremendous help to Ms. Richardson and the Light it up Blue crew. Thanks, Georgia and Rachel for showing your Bulldog spirit!"

From her dedication and commitment to her studies, to her radiant personality which makes her such a friendly face with her peers and teachers alike, to her true selflessness where she always put others before herself, Eva really deserves the award of Top Puppy! On top of this, Eva, alongside another bulldog Evan Johnson, recently qualified and competed in the prestigious National Fencing Junior Olympics in Denver, Colorado.

Sophia D. - Top Puppy Mon. Mar 4, 2019

This week's Top Puppy has been nominated by Ms. Jewell:

"I would like to nominate Sophia Dimos for Top Puppy. Sophia's dedication to the Bedford High School Key Club's mission of community service resulted in this wonderful letter representing what it means to be a Bulldog."

Good morning, Ms. Jewell,

On Thursday, I picked up the bag of blankets made by the Bedford Key Club students and donated at the Manchester Craft Market. Our thanks to you and the students for these two adorable, soft blankets! The elephant/lion print and the hedgehogs are sure to bring smiles to children's faces as they enjoy the warmth and comfort of the blankets.

What an excellent service project for students, creating something that will make a lasting impression on a child. These blankets will probably be delivered to the Easter Seals Child Development Center in Manchester very soon. Many of the children that attend that facility come from low income families, so your efforts will be much appreciated.

Thank you for thinking of Project Linus and the children we serve.

Congratulations Sophia!

Alieu T. - Top Puppy Monday Feb 4, 2019

This week's Top Puppy has been nominated by Ms. Romano:

"I'd like to nominate Alieu Taal for taking charge of cleaning up Bulldog Corner when it was discovered that a bunch of other students left behind food wrappers and drink bottles.

The area had trash everywhere. When Alieu was asked about it, he didn't know who did it - but, immediately volunteered to clean everything up.
Alieu's actions demonstrated an important reminder to care about our school grounds. Watching him was clear that pride in our school shines through when we keep our campus clean. No doubt, the custodians appreciate the effort too!"

Congrats Alieu!

Niamh R. - Top Puppy: Tues. Jan 22, 2019

This week's Top Puppy has been nominated by Mr. Ahnert:

"I'd like to nominate Niamh Russell and her NHS Leadership team of Jared Steinberg, Ciara Reilly, Aish Deva, Jess O'Brien, and Ally O'Neal. It is within the NHS officer expectations that these elected students manage the orientation of our new members, but this particular group has done it with aplomb. Niamh, in particular, has developed her own x2VOL lesson that she taught to a "classroom" of 60 of her peers not once, but twice this January! These officers are clearly visible to our chapter: managing our attendance, collecting our dues, Tweeting out our successes, or always, always, always, asking each other what else they need to do help. All of this positive modeling of expectations comes from the top, and that's Niamh. Her professionalism, kindness, tenacity, dedication, and heart inspires us to do and be better. We are a better chapter and school for her being here."

Leah R. Top Puppy Mon Jan14, 2018

This week's Top Puppy has been nominated by Ms. Mac:

"Most of the ASL vocabulary has videos for student to study, but there are a some words that do not have video files with our text material. Leah Rohe recently approached me about videotaping herself signing the words that did not have videos to help her peers when studying. I asked if she would mind if I put them on my website (and got her parents' approval) and she was fine with my doing so.

This is one of many things I am working on developing for my students, and I greatly appreciate that Leah saw this need and offered to help me with this so that I can focus on other notes and resources that need to be developed. Thank you Leah."

Top Puppy - Monday Jan 7, 2019

This week's Top Puppies have been nominated by Ms. Altemus:

"I would like to nominate the BHS peer partners of the unified AYC Bedford Bulldogs Adaptive Cheer team for Top Puppy this week! These peer partners have worked since August as part of a unified Spirit team - teaching skills and sharing their love of cheer with a group of athletes with disabilities ranging from age 6 to 18. The peer partners put their partners first - highlighting their abilities and supporting them to shine on the sidelines and receive standing ovations on the competition mat. The team recently represented NH in the Inspiration Division at the American Youth Cheer National Championships in Florida and delivered an outstanding routine! These partners truly inspire me with their leadership. They are not only changing the perceptions of what is possible for athletes with disabilities in the world of cheer, but they are also making dreams come true! Congratulations and many thanks to Raiden Ferreira, Megan Spencer, Emily Spencer, Hannah White, Maddy Oliveira, Ashley Christerson, Brooke Burke, Bryn Schneider and Ellie Tynan."

Ryan T. - Top Puppy: Wednesday Jan 2, 2019

This week's Top Puppy has been nominated by Mr. Parker who said the following about Ryan Toscano:

"Ryan is a great leader on and off the field, captaining both Football and Lacrosse. Due to the teams success this year he didn't get the stats (touches) that he and this award typically gets. Still earning the promotion for local coaches and media shows the great skill and threat Ryan brought to the field.

Ryan Toscano, named Gatorade NH Football Player of the Year!"
